Below: Scheel seats with lumbar support. Model 300 TBC These rare seats can be found on a few cars such as 2275227 or 2285056. The knobs are what control the angle of recline, but the whole seat is covered in Scheel fabric to allow for stretch in the side squabs. This seat has a panel in the middle to allow for this. Regular seats have just one seam in the side bolster. The recliners have two to allow for the seat to extend. The plastic side part at the base is also different than the regular one. It is unclear if the red center for 2275501 is genuine or not. General opinion is that the car was
delivered with the red center fabric. The tilt backrest scheel 101 is a factory option for the CSL.
It is unclear when that option started.
There are at least five versions of the 101 seat. The first had no triangle material at the pivot point, and it used a lever to adjust the angle. The second had no triangle, and had a knob. Knobs from
they point on. The next 101 had a vinyl angle piece at the pivot. The next had a fabric triangle, as seen in the 1974 catalog below. Then in 1975 Scheel joined forces with Mann. You can see these seats in
