This is still the best article ever written on the
CSL.
In late summer 1980, the late / much missed Frank Hedley, leant his ex Connery CSL to Roger Bell, for what Roger described as “ A week of fabulous motoring “. Roger was Motor Magazines editor, a very quick driver and he had also raced one of the “Dealer Team BMW Concessionaires GB” 3.0Si for the 1973 season. He lived and breathed BMW for a while.
BMW Concessionaires GB were very generous to Motor magazine in exchange for Roger giving BMW good write ups !
