Circa 2012

BMW 3.0 CSL - Batmobile kit, Alpinas, LSD, triple Webers etc. This BMW 3.0 CSL is classed as a Historic Vehicle and is tax free. It sailed through its MOT in the summer with no advisories. It comes with a BMW Heritage Certificate, Also featured in gallery area of e9coupe.com - top viewed images. Specification - beautiful car with triple Weber conversion, Mangoletsi manifolds, Schrick cam, stepped Alpina 16 alloys, Alpina suspension, stainless exhaust etc. Interior has new headlining, excellent Scheel seats and a BMW CSL Petri steering wheel etc. It still has its aluminium doors and bonnet. Theres a steel bootlid because of the weight of the rear spoiler (same as factory cars). Features immobiliser and period Bosch radio cassette. The tyres are Falken FK-05 GRB 205/55 ZR16 with lots of tread. Theres a Kenlowe electric fan. The front, roof and rear spoilers are all original BMW Motorsport items. Not sure about the wing splitters. The car has always been well looked after. Purchased after a long search in 1992 by Noel Butler, Chief Engineer of Prophets BMW, Solihull, later proprietor of BMW Coupe specialists NCB Autokraft, Warwick Road, Solihull. Noel upgraded the CSL with the Batmobile kit, and from a 3.0 to a 3.5 engine with bigger valves and improved head casting. Fully Waxoyled. Rarely used but taken to Silverstone for track days. Owned by Noel for 5 years. Since 1997 the CSL has been maintained by Mark Harper of Martek Motorsport, independent BMW specialists (who prepared the Labatts/Autotrader BTTC cars). Converted to Webers during this time (All fuel injection and a new ECU come with the car if anyone wanted to convert it back!). Lots of history. I bought it because Ive always wanted one but Ive hardly used it during my ownership. Too many other cars/projects. Its a shame for it to be in the garage. This is a lovely car and it drives beautifully. There are a few minor issues but nothing major.
