History 2017:

This second batch of the CSL characterizes the Bosch D-Jetronic injection system, which was introduced into the CSL as of August `72 as standard. Up to August `73, a total of 939 vehicles were produced from this second batch of which 439 are left-hand drives and 500 have right-hand drive.
In the 1980s, the CSL had the following reconstruction work was mandated by the second owner:
- Replacement of the original engine against an original BMW 3-liter exchange engine
- Recoating to "Alpine White", colour code 300
- Coating of the circulating chrome parts including the BMW kidney and the fender extensions in black (matching the standing fins on the front fenders)
- Retrofit CSL Front spoiler of the third version
- Retrofit of the optional BMW Comfort Extras power rear windows
We acquired this CSL in October 2016 and after extensive review of exterior and interior as well as taking into account the above-named re-organization work, we decided to subject the 3.0 CSL to an extensive restoration. Steps 2 and 3 of this restoration process, complete disassembly with subsequent dipping and immersion of the car body, have recently been completed. What follows is the cathodic dip coating. We expect the body to return at the end of January,.
At the present time, as there is maximum scope for reconstruction, we would like to pass this opportunity on to prospective buyers and offer the CSL in conjunction with a customer-specific restoration.
