History - update March 2017 (John Castle comments)
- This car was at Silverstone Classic in 2013 and took part in
the “pre 1980” touring car race. It was of course thrashed by
some more modern Ferrari’s, Aston Martin’s and AC Cobras.
- So I was surprised to see it for sale, not auction, at
Silverstone Auctions on 24 February alongside the Jay Kay car.
- It is left hand drive which must have been part of the
conversion to a race car to allow for a better exhaust layout
emerging under the passenger side door. It had a 3.5 litre
engine with triple Weber carburetors, centre lock race wheels
and a competition interior.
- Believe it has a FIA passport and can be used in some
classic races like Le Mans
- A bit of a mystery car really. I got the VIN when it was at
Silverstone.
