Condition: 2014: shows all the signs of “temporary” repairs rather than proper restoration including work on the sills which had not been completed properly with missing front jacking points. It is one of those cars which look OK from a distance but could be a minefield of hidden problems. .

Comments:

• 2017: an unspoilt, matching numbers, driveable lightweight coupe. This  CSL has been loved and cared for, and will be delivered in excellent mechanical order. The gearbox will be returned to the original four speed, the engine will be thoroughly inpected, serviced and polished. The interior is in good order, and the bodywork is solid, with paintwork of a good standard. For those who would like to take the condition to 'show' level, this CSL is ideal, as an unspoilt but solid - and very pretty - example.
• 2014: the car is in very fine original condition in every respect.
  A full restoration commenced in 1999 and was completed in 2004, since this time a mere 7,000 miles have been covered.
  The paintwork, chrome work, refurbished Alpina alloy wheels, original steering wheel, interior wood work, leather upholstery and carpets are all in very fine condition.
  More recent times have seen the replacement of the clutch, brakes, suspension and more. All of which now results in an extremely well sorted CSL which is ready to be used and enjoyed.
  This CSL is accompanied by a fully documented history including photographs of the restoration, a huge quantity of receipts for work carried out by BMW main agents and brand specialists ‘Jaymic Ltd’ of Norfolk, rare BMW factory manuals, original handbooks, numerous past MOT certificates, current MOT certificate expiring July 2015 and current road tax.

• December 2014: sold for about £45,000. Needs to be reregistered in UK as imported from Ireland.
