History: This car belonged to a friend of Oldenzaal Classics - A BMW collector in the German Hannover area. During his ownership the car was restored by a German BMW E9 Specialist. He performed a great job restoring the CSL back to its former glory. The car was completely repainted and the engine (Matching numbers) has been rebuilt during restoration. In 2017 the interior has been re-worked by Oldenzaal Classics: the CSL seats and rearseats have been reupholstered with the correct fabrics. The carpets were replaced as well. In 2017 the car was sold by us to a New York based car collector. He has driven the car through Germany for about 2000 kilometers for a major shake-down. Afterwards it was shipped to NY. He is the current owner: the car is located in NY and has a Montana Title. The car is in excellent condition: both technically and cosmetically. The engine has been rebuilt during restoration. All coolant hoses has been replaced along with the waterpump. It has a rebuilt alternator, a Varta battery, and new cap, rotor, plugs and ignition cables. The engine is nice and dry and running excellent. The 4-speed gearbox shifts excellent and the clutch is fresh. It rides beautiful and sporty on Bilstein shocks with CSL springs. An OEM exhaust system is great condition. The wheels are the correct 14"x7J Alpina/BMW wheels. The undercarriage is nice and solid with original floors and solid sills. The trunk has been repainted and restored nicely. With a spare Alpina wheel, tool, jack and complete set of tools. The wood-panels have been reupholstered in 'elephant skin' grey vinyl. The interior has been re-worked by Oldenzaal Classics in 2017 as aforementioned. Furthmore a new set of CocoMats, a beautiful Becker FM radio and the rare Alpina steering wheel. The dashboard is original and looks excellent, without any cracks. Doorpanels and wood-parts in beautiful original condition. Per the CSL specs - a factory black headliner. In 2021, the car is sold on behalf of our customer and is located in New Paltz, NY.
