Immatriculation / title:

History: the car started life in Brittany and was apparently laid up in a barn before WW2. Evidently the owner died in the war. It was then imported into the UK in 1976. It was then comprehensively restored by well known specialists including Trojan Ltd. It was finally registered WP 2959 in 1981

Restoration:
  1. First restoration in the 1970's early 1980's
  2. Mid 1980's: vehicle was dismantled and many of the components were brought to the Tford workshop. It was in quite shocking condition and during this time the engine was overhauled with re-metalled bearings by J.H. Richards in Birmingham (now Coventry Boring and Metalling) and new pistons and valves. The gearbox and was assembled with incorrect bearings which had allowed the shafts to float into the aluminum casing. This was also rectified at the time. In those days there was no budget available for the manufacture of new gearbox gears so damaged teeth were built up by a Lloyds certificated welder and were then machined and hand stoned back to profile. A complete new clutch was manufactured since the original one was beyond repair and this was likely done to the original design with copper linings. Mr. Talbot Cooper himself re-assembled the car was restarted in 1985 to start the engine for the first time at the owner's premises. In 1986 I The Tford moved to its present location where further work was carried out to the car in order to correct handling faults. The rear axle had already been re-built by a supposedly reputable company but it was still in very poor condition with rear hub bearings which had been fitted with huge amounts of  Loctite in an unsuccessful attempt to locate them. The axle casting was sleeved to restore the fit of the hub bearing. At that time the car  still needed a few odd jobs requiring attention but it was driving well and reliably.

Speed: cruising 40 mph, max 45 mph

Modification: rear of the car was transformed into a truck a long time ago, then retransformed into a car at an unknown period.
