Comment from the restorer:
BMW 3.0 CSL series II Batmobile, especially built for Bob
Lutz, one of the heavyweight automotive industry veterans
and former BMW board member. The number 006 was not a
regular CSL series II Batmobile, with the coordination of
Jochen Neerpasch, BMW Motorsport built his car with unique
specifications: Special paint in black with gold CSL
stripes, gold BBS 3-piece magnesium alloy wheels, a power
increased engine prepared by Schnitzer, and a BMW Motorsport
group 2 widebody. A super especial car that has been out off
the road since almost 50 years. On late spring of 1974, with
only 6.000km, Lutz’s daughter’s baby sitter lost control and
crashed the car on the way back home from school after
picking up the kids. Since the accident the car never left
Munich. It was dissembled and partially repaired but never
finished.
