Original: car has still the under tray under tray on the side of the engine crankcase, replaced by a more durable in fiberglass. Genuine part wasn't actually cardboard, but it was a fibre material that was only marginally better. It was some sort of flexible board that was impregnated with a waterproofing. I would guess that normal service life was only about 3 to 5 years. Basically rubbish.
