Restoration

• 2014: Being restored at >Miller of Classic Carreras in Killaloe, Co Clare, Ireland.
Underwent a full under-body bare metal restoration this year. Amazingly it's still all original metal under there, apart from the spare wheel well which was replaced at some point in the car's past.
• 2014: in need of partial restoration (some rust).
• 2006: lightly restored (original panel car).
  

History: John Hynes of Dublin bought the car as a ex Dealer Demo and proceeded to race it in the Production Saloon Car class in Ireland. It is unsure if he raced in the UK. In 1975 it set a lap record for it's class in Kirkstown and also won the Dunlop Hawthorn Trophy in the Phoenix Park. He returned it to use as his daily road car in 1976 and kept it until a few years ago. I bought the car from the guy who had bought it from him the previous year.

BMW Classic Certificate confirms this car as a 'drive back' car.
