The car's impressive history file included an original Italian road registration log book dating back to the 1970s, along with copies of later registration documents, and it is certainly believed that the rare BMW remained in Italy from new.

Der hier offerierte, seltene Wagen aus der ersten Serie, ist mit drei Vergasern ausgerüstet, (die späteren Fahrzeuge verfügten über Bosch Einspritzung). Das originale Interieur ist mit Scheel Sitzen und 'leichten Teppichen ausgestattet und verfügt ausserdem über ein Alpina Lenkrad und Kartenleselampe. Die Fenster sind aus Plexiglas gefertigt, teilweise noch mit dem BMW Händleremblem. Die Heckstossstange besteht aus 'Leichtbau'-Material, und das Dach sowie die Anbauteile sind aus Aluminium gefertigt. Das Interieur ist im Originalzustand belassen, jedoch der Lack wurde in Blau Metallic 'geändert', bevor er bei der Restauration des Wagens, Anfang 1990 wieder in den Auslieferungszustand 'Colorado Rot' versetzt wurde. Der Besitzer gibt an, dass Motor und Getriebe einwandfrei funktionieren, nachdem die Vergaser justiert wurden und das Triebwerk einen Service erhielt. Eine neue Auspuffanlage wurde ebenfalls installiert. Italienische Fahrzeugpapiere liegen vor, ebenso wie die Bestätigung von BMW, das Motor und Karosserie 'zusammengehören' (Matching Numbers).
