The car was sent as new car to Alpina in Buchloe and convert it into a B3 3.0 CSL specs car. That is a fact certified by Alpina. The delivery date from Buchloe is March 22nd. 1972.

The Alpina B3 engine is like a B2S engine, but with three Weber 45 DCOE carburators and 250 HP, instead of the Solex 45 DDH and 245 HP from the B2S.

The B3 engines were produced only for export purposes as the Weber 45 DCOE carburetors were not allowed by the German TÜV.

The Alpina B3 engine is the number 00730.

This car was sold directly in Spain by Inter-Atlantica, the BMW importer for Spain and even dealer from Alpina at that time, and registered in May 1972.
