Pertaining to red photos. This how 2015 owner found the Rally CSL In
Philadelphia. Here are notes from owner: "I recommended the guy to rub down the ugly red
paint and if there is blue running through the middle of the car and
white top and bottom, it would prove what I already believed. He
didn't want to do it...........within 10 mins of arriving at my
warehouse, I had not only found the white and blue of when it was a
BMW factory race car, but also the Colorado (orange) underneath that
it left the production line in as the third production CSL made"

Comment: # 4 of 5 BMW CSL prototypes produced in 1971. Raced in European Ralleys then converted to produce first 3.0 GT by M division see European Car Magazine Magazine February 1993 probably the very first M car.
It participated to four rallies and two races at the ring.
